I’m Dava Casoni and, as a fellow entrepreneur and an attorney, I am passionate about helping you protect your creative efforts and your business.

After spending over a decade working at global law firms for cutting edge corporations, I met a woman with whom I developed a vision for a new company. In building our business I found that time and time again, there were forms to file, contracts to sign, and permits to obtain. Even though I had twelve years experience as a business lawyer, it was a lot to do. As we started going to networking events, I quickly discovered that many of the entrepreneurs I met were at a complete loss when it came to legal issues. I began working with some of them privately and it pretty quickly became clear that many of them didn’t understand some of the basic things they could do themselves before they came to a lawyer to save themselves money, time and to protect themselves better.

Working with these start-ups, I realized that there is a real need for one reputable place a new business owner could turn to just get a basic understanding of how to work with lawyers, what types of things lawyers can do for them and a basic understanding of how to control legal costs. And so, Legal Basics for Business was born.

I love working with entrepreneurs – creative, forward moving, thinkers who have a passion to serve their clients and change the world doing it. Entrepreneurs like you wear “all of the hats” while their business is starting up. You need to know a little bit about everything from products, to design, to graphic art, to marketing, to sales, to finance and even to law. It is exciting and rewarding to me to provide entrepreneurs just like you, a much needed tool, so you can feel confident and safe as you move your amazing ideas forward into the world!
